PROJECT DETAILS —
Creating Product & Visual Systems
My role as a product designer, was to tackle complex workflows by strategically building out new features and refining existing experiences, through both UX workflows and wireframing, as well as compelling visuals and interfaces.
Please reach out for an in-depth process on my projects! Here is an overview of some of my main projects:
Connectors
A brand new comprehensive Connector Library feature within the product to create more visibility into the 20,000 + apps that Productiv offers, addressing simple to very complex used-cases for onboarding various types of applications.
App Center
Productiv's new add-on, where IT can guide employees with personalized app and license recommendations in one place, empowering them with access to the tools they need in minutes. The challenge was to deliver a complete employee centric experience from app discovery to fulfillment.
UI Refresh
A brand new visual and interaction system for the product including new hierarchy, type system, color library, etc. With a lot of the information and analytics to digest throughout the product, the aim was to simplify the UI, making it less cluttered and overwhelming for users.
REFLECTION —
The Design Process
Working in multi-disciplinary teams with product managers and engineers to develop design solutions and product strategies taught me a lot about the design process. Getting input from other teams early on the process and constantly sharing was key, as we needed all perspectives on the product. From this, I learned how to communicate my ideas in an efficient and effective way. This meant knowing when to make hi-fidelity wireframes with perfect attention to detail versus lo-fi mockups and sketches to communicate my thoughts across to my team members.
TAKEAWAYS -
Leading Projects
Productiv being a start up, I was the sole product design intern, which often meant multiple projects occurring at once and rigorous deadlines to deliver and ship projects. However, the increased amount of responsibility and trust I received from my team to take on leadership roles within projects gave me the opportunity to grow as a designer. I became organized with my work and gained more confident in my ability to pitch designs to the team and prioritize feedback I received.
